04.05.2009 - From an article about Reforest Frankfort Arbor Day Festival in Frankfort, KY.
Lauren Houston is one of several local musicians who participated. She’s a singer-songwriter and gave a 30-minute solo performance. In addition to providing musical entertainment, Houston also helped plant trees. “It’s very important,” she said. “Even if I wasn’t playing I would be planting a tree somewhere today.” Read the full article from The State Journal.

03.03.2009 - From the annoucement for the March 7th show at the Monterey Outpost, Monterey, KY.
“None other than the brilliant and beautiful Lauren Houston herself. Hailing from Morning View, KY, Lauren has been wooing and winning fans far and wide since her last appearance here. She has one of those wonderfully rare voices than can sing the phonebook or the alphabet and make it sound like a Wagner aria. Luckily she has better muses from which she draws her material, the biggest, best and most significant being herself. Her flawless voice is equaled only by her original lyrics and music and I’m sure we’ll be graced with a bounty of those.”

02.06.2009 - A video of Lauren and her band performing a cover of “Wayfaring Stranger” is now on You Tube!

12.09.2008 - “The real triumph on “Roots & Wings” is the genuine diversity of the songs on the album. It is less a grab-bag of originals that Houston has penned over the years as it is a carefully chosen selection of songs that get to the heart of the matter; family, friends and the land she calls home.” — Read the full review by Cole M Christensen Sentinel-Tribune Arts & Entertainment Writer and freelance contributor

12.04.2008 - “Lauren Houston is a talent. She sings, she writes well and she has that down-home girl next door aura that is neither false nor cliché. Roots & Wings should help Lauren Houston ascend the country ladder, and Fight This War could be the song that allows Houston to look at wherever she wants to be and declare that to be the top. If that song ever gets into major distribution there won’t be anyone in the business who will argue with her.” — Read the full review from Wildy’s World.

11.05.2008 - “Area singer/songwriter Lauren Houston also has a new CD available. The Northern Kentucky resident will celebrate the release of her debut — the gorgeous Folk/Pop/Country gem, Roots & Wings.” — Read the full article from CityBeat.
